Who we are
Car4Less was founded by Edward Thwaits, who spent decades in the South African motor industry — owning and operating multiple new-car franchise businesses, including Toyota, three Nissan dealerships and the original Delta stable (Isuzu and Opel). That hands-on experience is where the Car4Less idea was born.
The company spent more than three years working with major South African underwriting institutions to establish the performance guarantee arrangement that supports Car4Less's ability to fund the Payment Saver Plan cash-back — an ex gratia payment of up to R3 000 a month for qualifying buyers, subject to the plan's terms and Car4Less's determination.
The result is a patented model: every new car shown at its Car4Less price, below the manufacturer's retail price, and built around the Programme Car — the Car4Less price plus the Payment Saver Plan, set out in a separate offer to purchase and financed through the Car4Less finance application, with the potential for a monthly cash-back — so customers can pay less every month.

Car4Less is a South African automotive affordability business. Every car shows its Car4Less price, below the manufacturer's retail price, as the drawcard. Our main focus is the Programme Car — the Car4Less price plus the Payment Saver Plan, set out in a separate offer to purchase for your approval, financed exclusively through the Car4Less finance application (two parts of one plan, Post & Share and Shop & Save) — so customers may receive an ex gratia cash-back of up to R3 000 a month, effectively lowering their monthly vehicle cost.
