Guaranteed funding
The Performance Guarantee
How Car4Less stands behind its rewards — a performance guarantee arrangement that Car4Less holds and pays for with its own underwriters, which guarantees the funding provision. Your cash-back stays conditional on your participation and discretionary. With no premium and no policy for you.
Guaranteed funding. Conditional participation. Discretionary payment.

What is guaranteed is the R3 000 funding provision, under Car4Less's performance guarantee and according to its policy terms. Your participation is conditional, and any cash-back is an ex gratia payment at Car4Less's discretion. The policy is held by Car4Less with its underwriters — you pay no premium, are not a party to it and have no claim under it.
What stands behind the plan
Backed by Car4Less
Car4Less's own policy
Car4Less holds a performance guarantee policy — a contingency policy — with its own underwriters, established through commercial, compliance, actuarial and operational engagement over more than three years.
No premium, no policy for you
The Payment Saver Plan is most definitely not a policy. You buy no policy, hold no policy and pay no premium. Car4Less pays a single premium for the overall risk — not a premium per vehicle sold — and you pay nothing towards it.
Funded through the plan
The Payment Saver Plan cost is incorporated into the vehicle's financeable retail price, as determined by Car4Less per deal. That is how the plan is funded day to day — and your instalment is still paid by debit order to the bank as usual.
A backstop on the shelf
The policy sits on the shelf as a financial backstop for Car4Less, exercised only if Car4Less chooses to. It supports Car4Less's ability to fund the cash-back; your potential cash-back itself rests on the plan's terms and Car4Less's determination.
In plain terms
Car4Less carries the backstop — at no cost to you
Think of it this way: the Payment Saver Plan is funded through the plan itself, with its cost built into the vehicle's financeable retail price. Behind Car4Less sits its own performance guarantee policy with its underwriters — a backstop Car4Less pays for and exercises only if it chooses to. You pay no premium, sign no policy and are not a party to it; your potential cash-back rests on the plan's terms and Car4Less's determination.
The Performance Guarantee — questions
What exactly is the Performance Guarantee?+
It is a performance guarantee policy (a contingency policy) that Car4Less holds with its own underwriters. Car4Less pays a single premium for the overall risk, and the policy sits on the shelf as a financial backstop that Car4Less may exercise if it chooses to. Car4Less's ability to fund the Payment Saver Plan cash-back is supported by this arrangement.
Am I buying insurance?+
No. The Payment Saver Plan is most definitely not a policy — it is not an insurance policy, insurance product or insurance benefit offered to, purchased by, or held by any new-vehicle buyer. You pay no premium and no insurance cover is provided to you. The performance guarantee policy is Car4Less's own — you are not a party to it and have no claim under it.
Does the Performance Guarantee guarantee my cash-back?+
It guarantees the funding, not the payment. The funding provision is guaranteed by Car4Less's performance guarantee, according to its policy terms. Your cash-back itself is conditional on your participation and discretionary: Car4Less makes the final ex gratia decision, in its sole discretion, so it is never automatic and no participant is promised R3 000 in any month. The policy stands behind Car4Less, not behind any individual buyer's payment — you are not a party to it and have no claim under it. See The Payment Saver Plan Guarantee page for the full explanation.
Why structure it this way?+
So Car4Less can stand behind its rewards with discipline. The arrangement supports long-term sustainability, governance standards and financial prudence — while keeping the Payment Saver Plan what it is: a participation-based affordability plan, not an insurance solution.
Who regulates the cash-back payouts?+
Any cash-back Car4Less pays is distributed through an authorised rewards card mechanism, issued and administered by approved financial services providers and regulated under applicable South African financial services legislation, including FSCA governance standards where required.
