From Post to Payout: The Payment Saver Plan Qualifying Journey, Step by Step

08 September 2026 · 4 min read · Customer Education & Examples

The complete Payment Saver Plan journey in order — buying the car, participating, a customer appearing, the sale being tracked back to you, delivery, verification and payment — with examples of what does and does not qualify.

The Payment Saver Plan (PSP) is easiest to understand as a sequence. Each step has to happen, in order, and each is checked before the next one counts. Skip one and the journey stops, however well the others went. This article walks the sequence from the day you buy your car to the day cashback is paid, then shows three short examples of journeys that succeeded, stalled or never qualified.

Everything below explains the plan; it does not extend it. The Terms & Conditions on car4less.co.za set the requirements, and they prevail if any example here seems to say something different.

Step 1 — the qualifying purchase

The journey starts with a qualifying Car4Less vehicle transaction: a brand-new car bought through Car4Less, financed through the bank as normal and delivered by the national franchise dealer network. Buying the car makes you eligible to participate. It does not, on its own, entitle you to any benefit.

Step 2 — participation you can prove

Next comes Post & Share. You publish and share approved Car4Less content on authorised platforms, at the prescribed quantity and frequency, for the prescribed duration. Keep the evidence: posts that are deleted, edited beyond recognition or made private may not be verifiable, and unverifiable participation does not count.

Two habits keep participants on track. Use only approved content, never your own version of a claim about Car4Less. And keep to the schedule, because irregular participation is treated as incomplete.

Step 3 — a customer, tracked back to you

Your content reaches someone who wants a new car. They enquire, and the enquiry is attributed to your content through the tracking mechanism Car4Less prescribes. This attribution is what "tracked back to the originator" means: an identifiable link between your qualifying content and the customer's journey. Without that link, a sale cannot be credited to you no matter how much you posted.

Step 4 — sale, delivery, verification, payment

The customer's journey then has to complete: a successful sale of a new vehicle to that independent third-party customer, and delivery of the vehicle. Enquiries, leads, finance applications and even finance approvals are progress, not completion. Once the sale and delivery have happened and are attributed to you, Car4Less performs the final assessment of every requirement. Where all of them are satisfied, the qualifying cashback of up to R3 000 is paid onto your authorised Mastercard rewards card.

Three short examples

The examples are illustrative only and create no entitlement. They show the shape of a journey, not the outcome any particular person will get.

  • Successful: a buyer meets every content requirement, a customer enquires through her tracked content, buys a new car and takes delivery. Verification confirms each step. She qualifies for cashback.
  • Incomplete: a buyer posts for two weeks, stops for a month, then resumes. A customer he referred buys a car. Because participation was irregular, the requirements were not fully met and no entitlement arises, however close it came.
  • Non-qualifying: a buyer completes every post. A customer enquires and is approved for finance, then changes her mind and never takes delivery. No sale and delivery occurred, so no cashback is payable.

Where Shop & Save fits

Shop & Save is a separate programme with its own journey: normal shopping at Checkers, Pick n Pay, Dis-Chem or Shoprite, the official till slip uploaded and verified, and reward discounts of up to R3 000 in monthly value made available under its own rules. It is never added to Post & Share cashback, and a purchase on its own creates no reward. If you want to see both journeys drawn out, the diagrams hub has them side by side.

Questions about this article

What happens if my content brings in a customer who buys a different car than the one I posted about?

+

The plan is about a qualifying new-vehicle sale that is tracked back to your content, not about a specific model. What matters is that the customer's journey is attributed to you through the prescribed tracking mechanism, the sale completes, the vehicle is delivered, and every other requirement is met. The Terms & Conditions govern the detail.

Can two participants be paid for the same sale?

+

The same qualifying transaction should not create duplicate entitlements. The tracking and attribution mechanism determines the qualifying originator in accordance with the PSP rules, and Car4Less performs the final assessment.

How long after delivery is cashback paid?

+

Payment follows verification of every requirement, including the successful sale and delivery and the attribution to your content. Timing depends on that verification being completed and on the programme arrangements set out in the Terms & Conditions; the knowledge centre does not add a timeline that the terms do not contain.

Examples are provided for explanatory purposes only and do not create or extend any entitlement. The maximum cashback amount must not be interpreted as an unconditional or automatic payment, and participation alone does not create an entitlement to cashback or rewards.
